He|Him
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with fifteen years of experience in social work ranging from case management, advocacy, crisis intervention, individual and group work, and non-profit leadership. Originally from South Carolina, I moved to Charlotte in 2011 to focus my experience to work with LGBTQ communities.
My passion for supporting others in their mental health journey grew over my 10 years of work with LGBTQ youth and young adults through my roles at Time Out Youth. During this time I came to understand the lack of culturally competent care for LGBTQ people that is available in our community and to also see how transformative affirming mental health care can be. I believe that mental health care is a vital part of our own self-care and want to create a therapeutic space that supports and embraces people of all orientations and identities.
I enjoy working with older adolescent youth and young adults as they navigate life transitions and issues related to depression, anxiety, self-concept, and relationships. I believe that you are the expert of your own identity and that you absolutely have the capacity to reach your goals. By offering a safe and welcoming space to process our feelings, I believe I can help others to tap into the tools they need to navigate their experiences.
In addition to working directly with people, I am also passionate about providing education and consultation to other clinical professionals and human service organizations who want to be more inclusive and affirming when working with LGBTQ communities.
